What’s so grand
about being a grandma?

I’m writing Life Gets Grander, a book celebrating the big deal of being a grandma. Whether you are one, hope to be one, or were loved by an unforgettable one, your stories will help shape it.

Takes about 5 minutes. Share as much or as little as you like. Your story might end up in the book.

Grandma stories?
I’m all ears.

I have grand plans.

I’m Rene Gellerman. Mom of five grown kids, former CEO and grandma-in-waiting.

Here’s the honest part. For a lot of years, I was a single mom building a career, raising kids and juggling all the things that come with both. I’m proud of what I accomplished.

But looking back, I realize that some things I worried about most mattered the least.

Now I’m dreaming big about my next chapter. More time. More presence. More of me to go around. I want to be the kind of grandma my grandkids brag about, like my Grandma Trixie (that’s her with me), who made me feel safe and loved every single time.

I know I’m not the only one looking forward to this special time.

That’s why I’m writing Life Gets Grander, a book that celebrates the grandmas who came before us and inspires the ones we’re becoming.

And I’m not writing it alone. Tell me your stories. The ones that make you laugh. The traditions you treasure. The moments that make a grandma unforgettable.

You’ve read a bedtime story over FaceTime from three states away.

Distance is no match for a grandma. You’ll always find a way to be there.

You learned a TikTok dance. On purpose.

Your moves might be vintage. But they’ll never forget you tried.

You picked your grandma name before there was a grandbaby.

Glamma? Gigi? Bubbe? Grammy? Nana? It’s a whole thing.

At your house, the rules are … flexible.

Ice cream for dinner? Grandma says yes.

Your grandma texts you in ALL CAPS.

And you wouldn’t ever want her to change it.

A few questions about the grandma you are, hope to be or still talk about. Answer what you like. Skip what you don’t.

About five minutes. Longer if your stories start flowing.

Your answers will help shape the book. You choose whether I may quote or contact you. I’ll never share your email.

Know someone who
should share their story?

Some of the best wisdom will likely come from grandmas and families I don’t know yet. Help me find them.
